Innovantes, porteuses de haute technologie, quelques nouvelles montures pour homme sont réalisées en ?Flexolite® Memory Metal?, alliage spécial de titane doté d?une souplesse extraordinaire (mod. E 7159, E 7160, E 7162). L?ensemble, aux lignes effilées et carrées, possède une rare flexibilité: comprimé, plié ou tordu, il reprend aussitôt sa forme d?origine sans conserver la moindre trace de déformation. Le confort est total. Quant à la gamme des couleurs, elle est déclinée dans les teintes semi-mates du canon de fusil, bronze, bleu et noir.
D?autres modèles pour homme, dédiés aux plus exigeants en matière de design et de fonctionnalité, arborent la nouvelle charnière flexible ?Elasta 1 Restyling? donnant à ces montures un confort absolu. Il s?agit d?une réédition de la célèbre charnière ?Elasta?, très plébiscitée dans les années 80, interprétée ici sous un jour contemporain (mod. E 1129). For this coming season the SAFILO ELASTA eyewear collection focuses on comfortable optical frames with a classic design.
Innovative and highly-tech, the new men's models are made of ?Flexolite® Memory Metal?, a special titanium alloy that's remarkably flexible (models E 7159, E 7160, E 7162). The slim square frames can therefore be twisted, bent and buckled and will still return to their original shape without any lasting damage whatsoever, guaranteeing total comfort. The colour palette proposes semi-opaque shades of gun-metal, bronze, blue and black.
Other men's models, dedicated to those who always demand the best in design and performance, feature temples with ?Elasta 1 Restyling?. This consists ofbrand new flex hinges that make the frames super-comfortable. This is the latest version of the legendary ?Elasta? hinge which was highly successful during the Eighties and has now been brought up to speed with a contemporary design (mod. E 1129). This large, boxy model features an acetate front and metal temples engraved with the stylised logo.
The women's acetate frames feature a refined shape with an oval design (mod. E 5781). American Kristin Armstrong put together the fastest thirty five minutes of her career to take Gold at the Olympic Women's Time Trial, giving Smith the first medal in the summer Olympics. It?s the first gold in road cycling for the US in twenty-four years, since Connie Carpenter Phinney and Alexi Grewal won gold in Los Angeles in 1984. It is also the first time in Olympic history that an American woman has won gold in the Olympic Time Trial.
Swedish Emma Johansson won the Silver medal in the individual road cycling race, wearing a CARRERA Cyclone helmet. Despite the bad weather conditions caused by the high level of humidity, the twenty-five year old athlete, who since this year is part of the National Swedish Team, the AA Cycling Team, has managed to win the title after having obtained the 6th place at World Championship Race in Stuttgart in 2007.
